One win, two poles and every lap completed highlight the team’s 2026 Pro Late Model campaign
BLUFFTON, S.C. (October 19, 2026) — Low Country Motorsports capped its first full-time CARS Tour Pro Late Model season with a runner-up finish in the owner’s championship following Saturday’s season finale at South Boston Speedway in Virginia. The Bluffton-based team finished just four points shy of the title, closing a season defined by consistency, a breakthrough victory and contributions from three drivers.
Across 11 races, Low Country Motorsports recorded one win, two poles, nine top-five finishes and 11 top-10 finishes while completing 100 percent of the season’s laps. Treyten Lapcevich, Ben Maier and TJ DeCaire each contributed behind the wheel, helping position the team as a championship contender in its first full campaign.
DeCaire’s arrival at North Wilkesboro Speedway marked the beginning of a particularly strong stretch. From that debut through the South Boston finale, every CARS Tour start with DeCaire produced a top-five finish. The pairing also delivered the team’s first CARS Tour victory at Hickory Motor Speedway.
“I’m proud to be part of this team. They’ve become like family to me, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity,” said DeCaire. “I’m proud of the effort we’ve put in together since I joined. Completing every lap and finishing in the top five in every race during that stretch is something we can all take pride in. I’m looking forward to the races we have left this year and continuing to build on what we’ve accomplished.”
Low Country Motorsports entered the championship finale with a seven-point advantage in the owner’s standings. Although the title ultimately slipped away, co-owner AJ Frank expressed pride in the team’s performance and credited everyone who contributed to its Hamke racecars throughout the year.
“It’s awesome to be in the conversation and a true testament to everyone that has had a hand on these Hamke Racecars this year,” Frank shared ahead of the finale. “Win or lose, we will live to fight another day, and this team will just continue to get stronger!”
Following the race, Frank congratulated the championship-winning Setzer team while reflecting on Low Country Motorsports’ accomplishments.
“Went in with a seven-point lead and came up four points short,” Frank said. “Hats off to the Setzer bunch. Still proud of what we accomplished as a team in the CARS Tour this season.”
The season’s results reflect the collective effort of the team’s drivers, crew, partners and supporters. Completing every lap and finishing inside the top 10 in every event provided a strong foundation, while the victory at Hickory demonstrated the team’s ability to turn that consistency into a winning performance.
With its first full CARS Tour season complete, Low Country Motorsports now shifts its attention to three upcoming crown jewel events. The team carries the experience and momentum of its championship pursuit into those races, proud of its progress and eager to build on it in the seasons ahead.
March Forth.
